Banded Games

Please can we have more banded octets. I don't wish to enter tournaments with people rated 1600 and up. I don't want to waste their time or mine and the chance of me giving anyone with that rating or above a decent game are very remote indeed. But since the banded octets disappeared I have very little action. I suspect their are at least seven others who feel the same. ...right?

Why did they disappear?
