the game of mine i'm most proud of is Game 68619, playing as black against Koos who was (and still is) rated a couple of hundred above me. looking back (this is over a year ago, i think), i can see i had no idea what i was doing in the opening, which is why, after 26 moves, Koos was two pawns up, had a lot more space, and two passed pawns. Yet, after 38 moves, it was checkmate to me, after a sequence i'm am a little proud of. it's not a game full of great technique, but as a win from a very bad looking position, i think it's pretty ok.

Nice, love that King's Gambit...

I just went hunting through the games of some of the top players on the site, and I thought this Tebb-Icarus game was pretty neat:
Game 238843

It has that knife-fight-in-a-phone-booth quality you get with the Sicilian, a nice strategic piece sac (Tebb gets 3 q-side passed pawns), and a cool finish.

As the victim of this sac, I can only agree with you. My opening variation choice may not have been the best, but I can't find any blunders or big mistakes. Javier's play was simply outstanding! If all my losses were of this quality, I would be proud of myself.

If anyone's ever lost in 2, 3 or 4 moves on RHP, then those games would have to go down as pretty unique - I mean you don't join an online chess site if you can't defend against them.

I was browsing through my archives in the idle hope I might have played some brilliant game here.It was striking to see how silly all my games look in retrospect.I mean, the mistakes are so obvious,it's hard to believe my opponent missed them, and vice versa. The best tactical blows look like lucky shots rather than carefully set up traps.😳
Is it just me,or are there other people having the same feeling about their games?πŸ˜•

I know what you mean - when I play them my games feel coherent enough, but playing over them afterward it's an exercise in 'what was I thinking?'

One benefit of joining the Hardcore Pawn Stars is the analysis of my games, but do I really want to know that I missed the chance to win a piece at move 8, my opponent had a mate-in-five at move 15, and I was lost going into the endgame before my opponent blundered?
