youve unlocked the secret.....if you are black and youre opponent plays 1. f4, then you must simply knock your king over and resign, for there is no defense against the punishment you would take

i like playing f5 for a symmetrical feeling....but main line is d5....followed by c5

what i ment by symmetrical is that most players arnt ready for it. That being said I dont enjoy playing against f4....so maybe thats what I need to work on

I would be wary of answering with 1...f5.

Simply because there is some theory that 2. e4 and a reversed From's Gambit is quite favourable for white.
