I was having a look at my statistics and noticed that I don't seem to be following the usual convention of winning more with white :
White... Won=60 Drawn=8 Lost=28 % wins as white = 62.5%
Black... Won=75 Drawn=8 Lost=30 % wins as black = 66.4%
I don't know what the statistics are for white beating black in chess in general but I'm fairly sure white should have the edge by virtue of the first move. I'd be interested in the actual figure if anybody knows it.
I was also wondering if this means that I'm slightly better defensively and I maybe should take a less aggressive attitude as white and simply allow my opponent to batter himself against my impregnable (Lol) defense and swoop for the kill when they have exhausted themselves. 😵
If any of you want to dig out your stats and post them here I would be interested to see if I am unusual or there is a random spread of people who are better with one colour or the other. 🙂
