After playing a doubles tournament today (5 mins/player), I have a question... My partner (about 1700 or going on that grade fast) told me "knights and pawns are the key". So i was going for move 3 trades for his knight vs my bish. He said that knights and pawns beat bishops in doubles. Is this true and why???
He was against IM/GM Jacob Aaraagard LOL. He was able to hold on somehow and went a queen up and i got mated by the cheapest mate you could ever think of. Oh it was funny as hell!
Is Blitz doubles the chess game where you have 4 players, 2 per team and when you capture a piece you can give it to your teammate and he can use that piece if he wants.
If so then this is what i think. A knight in your opponents camp controls 8 squares and is more annoying then a bishop, don't you think?
Probably thats why??

Knights control 6 quares max?
Standard piece comparisons don't work in Bughouse (also known as Transfer Chess). Knights are much more powerful than bishops in Bughouse. They can be dropped into nasty holes in your opponents position and cause chaos. Pawns are also very useful (especially when you get the possibility of dropping them near a promotion square because promoted pieces are pawns when placed on your partners board).
