Originally posted by jbacathere are some excellent videos on youtube featuring his transportation from Jail in Japan to Iceland, Fischer sings some songs, talks about Michael Jackson, and also says that he loathes chess as its all memory. He talk also of the simplicity of Fischer random as opposed to Capablancas ideas of two kings and two extra pieces. The footage has never before been released, and is quite interesting for any Fischer fan.

here's a Facebook page
in case you'd like to know more (Absinthe stupor aside) this subject might garner some
chess fans attention
BTW watched it last night interesting certainly sad, however it was nostalgic due to its telling the tale of how the match in Iceland was so threatened by Fischers erratic behavior.his paranoia and basic distrust of authority. This match created a chess fervor
here in the USA and the focus on this was another plus for me. A chess match on a major network, the White house promoting it. This match brought Chess to the world stage like nothing else before or since.
http://tacticstime.com/?p=604 I posted about it on my blog.
I actually ordered HBO just so I could watch it. It was only about 10 dollars more per month, and I ended up getting about 100 extra channels as well. For 10 dollars - which is about what it costs to go see a movie in a theater, it seemed worth it to me.
It is quite good, and certainly a "must see" for any chess and fischer fan.
