Chaos Chess

has anyone ever played chaos chess?that is chess you play with cards?
saw a set at a car boot sale and just wondered if they were any good.

cards are for playing poker not chess my friend.

i thought the same,thats why i didn't buy them!i wondered why you would need to change the rules of chess? surely the game has evolved into a strategic game of skill,why would you need to throw in a luck element?

I've played knightmare chess before with my neighbor. It's interesting. In the beginning of the game he had a card that took away my queen so I just resigned because I didn't have any good cards. I didn't like the game. But I decided to keep playing it with him, and it's pretty cool. even losing your queen isn't hopeless because the cards can change anything. The best card is called warlord, it lets your king move two squares instead of one.

I bought some for my son. We havent tried em out yet.
