Using databases for corrospondence chess was something that was allowed because it would be too difficult to detect if someone were using them or not. In the future it will be more difficult to determine if someone is using an engine to make their moves (which is still impossible to detect 100😵 and this is why no one is to take corrospondence chess seriously as any indication of how well they play or not. Corrospondence chess is a joke and a pass time for serious players of any age or level.

Yep. Just a step up from chasing racoons.

And I thought I was correct all three times.

I love consistency. 😉

One half step, if I may beg to differ.

I have never stated that it is cheating. It's obviously NOT cheating or it wouldn't be clearly allowed would it? [that is a rhetorical question, don't answer]
Yeah 🙄 and I never said you said DB users were cheats, just that you were going to treat them in the same way as a cheat. 😵

Roman Dvd/Videos. Complete black rep. except against 1.e4 because I didn't like what he suggested.

I think it was 1.e4 d6 2.d4 Nf6 3.Nf3 e5. I played it vs a computer a bit but don't like it.

You could always just ask your opponent before starting at game if they use a database or not?

Depending on my mood, I might lie to you if you ask me that.

Sort of asking a women here age. It's not polite.

Wow... I never dreamed my little survey would produce so many posts. My previous survey (on the King's Gambit) hardly produced any conversation:

That is complete balderdash, and you should know it.
I ain't going to KEEP repeating that I don't consider it cheating, or even that I am in favour of disallowing it. [which I'm not]
Everyone on this site can make their own choices about who they play, if I decide I don't want to play Ragnorak for example, it does NOT mean I am treating him in the same way as a cheat.

Gawd give me strength.

So what you're saying is that you'll only compete in the pole vaulting competition against other pole vaulters who chose not to use the pole.

Got it!

[EDIT] I took that meaning more from your profile than from the quoted post.

Don't get me wrong I'll play anyone, but when I get thrashed I'd like to know if my opponent has used a database. Not that they would need to as I've been playing crap lately. As they don't tell you [some of them] I state in my profile that I prefer non users, to make a more even game of it.
Like I said it's just a personal thing with everyone.
