Hi neilarini,
It does happen but I'd say over 1900 and upwards.
You will notice how few games above that number I use in the blog
and that thrives on errors.
I can assure you the majority under that level play clean chess
(or the computers they are using must be the 1K ZX81 which
basically played legal moves and nothing more.)
If in doubt PM me the game, I'll give it the once over and if
I smell silicon I'll pass it onto one of the head hunters for a match up.
Very hard to prove on one game. I think the site now views cheats
not with contempt but with pity. What is the point, there is no money involved.
Also banning them proved a bit fruitless, they came back under a new tag
only this time wiser (you catch me again) and with a grudge.
Originally posted by @neilariniCheating is very difficult to prove which is why the admins can't do much about it.
After ten years playing on this site I'm close to leaving due to cheats. Why isn't anything done about it?
Also as Jeff says, there's nothing to stop them applying under a different name and starting over if they're banned
There's two things you can do on a personal level.Either ignore it and treat the game as a learning excersise or just resign.
