I read Renaud and Kahn, The Art of the Checkmate, and Murray Chandler, How to Beat Your Dad at Chess.
Renaud and Kahn is exceptionally well organized, but is in the old descriptive notation. Chandler's book is kid-friendly with a lot of diagrams, but he forced his list into the number 50, and the sequence leaves a lot to be desired.
I took it upon myself to organize the information in another way. I welcome constructive criticism. Take a look at http://www.angelfire.com/poetry/wulebgr/checklist.htm

The only prob, if you could call it that, was that I found the pics of the full board a wee bit on the small side.
Thanks again,
