Sites such as Chessable, Chess Tutor, Fritz, Chessbase and others have a number of tools that can be very useful for most players, but with sites and technology evolving almost daily, as well as mergers and other changes, how does an aspiring player choose a site that will benefit them as well as one that they can count on to be available a few years from now?

It's quite difficult and there is a lot of choice. The Chess sites a few years ago are not the same today, there is a lot of evolution.
