Looked for a thread on Chess clocks with google and couldn't find one.
I just got a Chronos GX (push button) and I'm like a kid at Christmas! Playing with my new toy.
Chronos seem to be the rage here in the states. Is that true elsewhere?
Personally, I like the fact that it looks like a shop project (as I read on one review). Seems like something from the Apollo space missions.
Originally posted by thesonofsaulYeah, I have DGT XL (previous official FIDE clock) and it is nice to hear click when you hit the button with your pawn. However, after you give away more than 100$, you actually do not like the sound of your opponent heavy hand as he SMASHES the button in a blitz game. 😠Happens to my poor clock all the time.
Actually, I don't really like those touch sensitive clocks. I like to hit the button with the piece (or pawn) during exchanges, and the touch sensitive thing frustrates that and throws off my game. That's what I say when I lose, anyway.
Originally posted by SeVeSI've never had the desire to play a Chess960 game before, but who knows, maybe some time in the future. But I do sometimes play multiple time-control games, and this clock can only handle one time control. So unfortunately, it doesn't meet my requirements for a chess clock.
DGT launched a new clock some months ago. It is a portable clock which also generates start positions for Chess960. I didn't use it yet, but it looks great.

Originally posted by MrHandYeah, Chronos clocks are built like tanks. I don't own one, but I've played on them a few times. Always a pleasure. (The only downside I guess is programming them.)
