I play G/15 on the ICC.

Two years ago I got to 1958. since then I have fallen 250 points.I play well for a few games and then it falls apart.I miss simple tactics.Even when I play well, time gets me. I have tried different openings.

I understand we all have limits on talent. however, there must be ways to get better at G/15.

any ideas or experiences?

I have the same problem. I put 300 points on my rating the other day. Today, can't win a game. Chess is a bitch. All i can suggest is tactics training, it does help eventually..

My peak in chess was the lower 1800's but, can offer 3 things:

1. Balance your study and playing time, you'll need both in order to improve.

2. Don't carry a large game load. 6-20 games should be enough.

3. Don't blame yourself if your not doing well, it's part of the process.
