Initially to consolidate a 1600+ rating, hopefully reaching 1700. Also to improve my understanding of openings and the "early middlegame". At the moment I feel like I'm pretty good at finding the correct move on those tactics websites, I just need to work on being able to engineer situations where I can use that tactical play. Finally, when I lose games, to try and find the move(s) I made that caused me to lose and decide what I should have done.

I want a GM norm. Realistically, that might have to wait till about 2030. 😀

I would like a 2100 fide rating. That is hopefully a realistic target if I face plenty of rated opponents and score reasonably well.

It is performence in a 9 or 11 round tournament, where you score a rating performance of 2600 against a certain number of titled opponents.

My goal is to make the final round in the RHP 2010 Championship.

Made the second round but missed it three years in a row...

My goal for 2009 was to reach 2000 USCF. I got to 1946. My goal in 2010 is to reach 2100 USCF. Let's see how that goes 🙂
