Hello All,

Have only recently familiarised myself with Chess, therefore decided to practice online. But in my inaugral game, some of my proposed moves got highlighted in Pink and disallowed it seems. Why were they highlighted in Pink? Is there an onlinH RHP chess etiquette pamphlet I should be reading?

Thanks.

That means they were illegal moves i.e. in chess you shouldn't be able to play that.

Can you post which game, the move and at what point you were trying to make it? That way someone might be able to point out why it wasn't allowed.

just write [gid]gameIdNumber[/gid] and it'll show as a link in your post.

the rest of what you need to know about the site is probably here: FAQ

You were in check, so any move apart from getting yourself out of check is illegal, hence the pink squares.
