Just seen an article in the times from Saturday.
BBC2 have commissioned an 8 part series called chess masters. The format is yet to be announced. The article also talks about the series from the late 70's.What I didn't know was all games were played behind closed doors and then replicated with the comments for the t.v.The final between Karpov and Miles was never broadcast because of a technicians strike!
One amusing anecdote from the series. The Dutch grandmaster Jan Hein Donner(who?) said "I will allow the checkmate because it makes good television"In reality he had missed it!
@venda saidPlease let us know if they post it on you tube one day. I can't imagine any network airing it over here, since chess masters in America have roughly the same status as gypsy violinists.

@greenpawn34 saidGreenpawn - Many Thanks for posting this. Pretty interesting. Did you notice the Sutton - Coldfield wind up clock at :26? I used to have one. Those were wonderful, it lasted with me for 15 years before we were required to use electronic clocks.
Here is vid of the old Msster Game series.
The players played a normal game. Then recreated it with comments.
