Ok, i dont know how to make the boards on the post so you guys who do will have to make the board or you all will have to visualize it or put the pieces on a board yourself. Here are the pieces and the coordinates.

Black:
Pawns:A7,B7,F7,F5,G5,H6
Knights:B4
Queens:H5
King: D5

White:
Pawns:F3,G3,H2
Rooks: D4
Queens:E3
King:G2

If someone who knows how to make the boards on the post could make one for that itd be great, but i dont so until some one makes one you will just have to get out a board and put pieces on the spots.
I really think its possible to get mate before 10 moves, since the rook and queen are set up so good for a staircase mate.i dont know though.

ok i messed up on the coordinates. the black king is on B5, not D5

A lot of the time with checkmate puzzles, You gotta count dumb checks which don't do anything, just prolong the mate. So for example black to sac his queen just to check the white king and then try for some pawn checks.

Why are you intrested in this problem? I mean mate in 10, why go through all that trouble figuring it out. Just stick it in a chess program and let if find the solution. You can download a lot of free ones online. Just start looking for them.

its no fun using a chess engine to solve the puzzles, because that doesnt help you at all with learning and getting better. thats like someone who wants to be the strongest man in the world lifting wieghts with a crane.

how come when bowmann and bad wolf and santadrummer make puzzles on here they actually get people to post answers and i make one on here and i look like a idiot because people dont know what my metaphor means

Reading other threads, you should know what peoples opinion fo santadrummer is.

Next mate in 10 is just to far. Wastes to much time, not intresting and what do you get out of it. Unless if your a GM or something, its not worthwile. I can do mate in 5-6 in my head after studying tactics and I have ones have to use that in an OTB game. The most i've used so far is mate in 3.
