Since in ''posers and puzzles forum'' there are not much chess related problems,I'd like to see here in Chess forum some chess puzzles posted regularly to keep my (and your) mind busy when not moving.
I'll start posting this easy one (I took 10 min.to solve, and I'm a patzer)with a apparently hopeless position of black, which has not only to defend from mate threat with Rb2 or Ra1 but has to win.
Here's the position, black to move and win:
White has Kc3,Ra2,Re2,Nb3 and a pawn in c4
Black has Kb1,Rb8,Rd8,Nb6,c5
Anyone to solve it and post another?
P.s.:I watched better and there are many chess puzzles in the apposite forum, once again i feel an idiot..........
hmm... here's what I've got. 1. ... b4!!
1. ... b4+ 2. Kxb4 Nd5+ 3. Kc5 Rbc8+ 4. Kb5 Nc3+
6. Kb4 Nxa2+ 6. Ka3 Ra8+ 7. Na5 Rxa5+ 8. Kb3 Rb8#
1. ... b4+ 2. Kxb4 Nd5+ 3. Ka5 Ra8+ 4. Kb5 Nc3+ then repeat as above, at least winning a rook with an easy endgame. Doing it this way and capturing the a rook with the knight, instead of 4. ... Rxa2 on the spot, avoids the risk of perpetual or having to sac down to just being up a piece after Nd2. eg. 4. ... Rxa2 5. Nd2+ Ka1 6. Nb3+ etc.

It's very cool... and took me a while since I was having a hell of a time keeping the king contained without causing a stalemate... but I figured I'd have to sacrifice my rook at some point...
I'm trying to come up with one but I'm kinda at the office right now so please bear with me for a bit, k?

white: Kb3, Nd8, pc7
black: Ka5, Rb1, Re2, Nf4, Ng2, pa6, pb2, pb6, pd3, pd5, pe3, pf2, ph3
white to move checkmates black in 9.

1.Nb7+,Kb6 2.pc7-c8=Q,pf2-f1=Q 3.Nd6+,Ka5 4.Qc3+# 1-0

1.Nb7+ Kb6 2.c8=Q Rc1! and white has nothing better than a draw with 3.Nd6+ Ka5 4.Nb7 Kb6 etc... 3.Qxc1 loses after b1=Q 4.Qxb1 Re1 (for instance).
edit. hadn't seen the reply above
