I'm looking for a chess program that can function both as a teacher and as an opponent. I used to have Chessmaster 10000 about 4 years ago, but was wondering if there is anything better. Any thoughts?

Well I notice you have been here about a year now and are still provisional. You would do well to play more games on 3 day control.
