Is it best way for improve chess skills to play chess with better players than you, or with equal? Maybe is better learning from your own mistakes than playing with opponents that are as good as you are?!

very important is to enjoy the game ... if a very strong player can destroy you over and over and still help you enjoy it ... then this is best.

if the strong player is an @$$#0)(E then you are better playing against similar players.

usually it's recommended to play some games against 100-200pts higher than yourself. that way, they'll punish you for typical mistakes of your level, but you still win once in a while. players of your level don't catch the errors that keep you on your level. on the other hand, playing people too much stronger than you can be discouraging as you'll just get beaten time after time. getting beaten once in a while is just good for you. builds up hunger and stomps that false pride. 🙂 -also play some games against people lower than you, to learn how to win 'won games.'

but as flexmore said, the most important thing is to have fun. otherwise you won't have the motivation to study or play properly.
