    I live in Florida USA, and GM Arnold Denker was a chess fixture here until he passed away in 2005. He didn't play very much in his later years (he came to the State Championhip more for the golf than the chess!), but he owned whatever room he entered, and his Panama Hat became a trademark.

    He was an excellent boxer in his younger days, so he predated the modern chess/boxing connection by about 50 years!
