He claims it was a Golden Knights event. The rules are at http://www.uschess.org/cc/

Don't they have one every year? I clicked and it said golden knight 2006 and takes 2.5 year for each round to complete so surely it can't be that one.

Year? 7 games a round i think it said. 30 days for 10 moves.

It was back in 1993 when I was in the Navy Rahim. I played some postal chess then. Took a while to complete the games, and yeah, it lasts a long time.

Yes. I played in the 1998 event. My last games went to adjudication in 2000. I didn't do well, so I didn't move on to the next round.

I'm one game shy of an established USCF CC rating, currently at 1805.

Do you think you played better chess then or now?

13 years is a long time you know. Might have lost some chess talent if you didn't keep studying.

You gave an assist here.
Now he will answer "Yes Rahim, you're right,I was rated 1900 but I lost some talent with the years"

Hahah!! The great V. Korchnoi has kept his rating pretty stable and how old is he 70s, 80's?

He's an exception though.

Your rating does drop a lot if you aren't active over the years. I was suprised how strong some of our club players were several years ago.

2000+ and now they are at 1400...Old age kicked in. Another one 2200+ and now he is always hovering back and forth around 2000, because he doesn't study much.
