Please post here your opinions ONLY about large boards variants: Capablanca, Bird, Omega, Grand.

Does anyone have some signs of life from Omega Chess? Site has no news. It seems so called "financial crysis" of 2008 put an end to this good idea. Maybe it was too commercial right from the start?

If I remember right some of the pieces are random in number and arrangement. 😕 I just clicked the moves when I played it. 😀

Did anyone try Capablanca, Gothic and Embassy chess? What starting set-up you find the best?

Oh, and I forgot to mention another good variant - Universe Chess (not Universal that played 10*10 but exactly Universe 10*8).

As for me, I hesitate between Grand Chess and Embassy Chess. First one has some flavor of ancient variants, Shatranj and such - no castling, large board, rather slower development. Second one feels has more traditional atmosphere but with new tactical and strategic ways that Marshall and Cardinal give.
