But note that quite a lot of cases of K+2N v K+P mate can be forced, but it is tricky and may take more than 50 moves. The method is to use one Knight to blockade the Pawn, use the King and other Knight to drive the inferior King into a corner in what would be a stalemate if the inferior side did not have the the pawn, then bring the blockcading Knight over thus releasing the Pawn which the inferior side must then move, and the Knights can then mate.

YES.

True, it can't be forced, but it is possible to mate that way. People don't always play perfect, espcially if they get in a hurry in the endgame and are just trying to stalemate on the 50 move rule.
