Why do you use an engine on playchess?

Any Chessbase engine comes with a 1 year subscription to Playchess. That is likely what he means. Or he could be using his engine in Engine/Centaur matches on Playchess (which is allowed obviously).

Yeah with Fritz 8 & 9 you select tools, analysis, then you have some options, blunder check, postion and a few others, I usually just select full.

Once you select that you should get a further pop up with more options, I suggest you reduce the thinking time for each move right down otherwise you'll be there all day waiting for the thing to finish.

Also, you get a different Playchess interface. It's a lot newer and has more features than the downloadable one.

I guess it depends what you want the software for. Myself I always buy chessbase software if only for the fact it comes with a years free subscription to playchess which is just mwaaaaammm and woooo. 😛

When humans make mistakes, it's primarily due to a misconception and there's a reason for the bad move. When the computer makes mistakes, it's just random as hell
Very good point! I've also noticed that.
