The first move of my line defends the bishop nicely....
Nc3! - If black trades KxB at c1 its to white advantage - An attacking peice is exchanged for a sitting duck...
And as for the King problems -- I played White against Crafty, and I managed to defend the position (giving it 30sec a move) -- in my opinion, the King "problems" are easily defended, ...[text shortened]... Crafty has decided to change its moves, which coincidently mean black is better than I Thought
Here's a reavalualtion of that line:
12.Nh3+ 13.Kh1 Bd5 14.e4 (not the best move) 14...Qh4 15.exd5 Nd4 (Not the best move, Nxf2 first and then Nd4) 16.Qxc5? (16.Qc3 or Qd3) 16...Nxf2 17.Kg1 Nxd1 18.Rxd1 Nb3 with a fork
or 17...Nxd1 18.say some dumb move like b4 Ne2+ 19.Kh1 Rfc8 and Black is crushing here!

I.e
from 16. Nxf2+ Rxf2 Qxf2 Qe3 (preventing mate)
funny thing is, the more i look at h3+ the more I like it - I'm somewhat curious to know how accurate some of these lines would have been..I still think white would have had a killer defence in the midst of it somewhere....
Originally posted by ShinidokiRxf2 Qxf2, I think it about an equal trade sort of. I didn't consider Rxf2 much and neither did fritz. Nh3+ was not the best move and I analysed it with fritz and it didn't like it either. White has decent resources such as Nh3+ Kh1 Bd5 d3 ( i'm not sure what this did) but there is also f3 instead of d3. White has a slight advantage over here.

Nd3 was the best move and we played it.

while I think Rc8 is a good move - is there any merit in offering a queen exchange at D5?
Going into the endgame a pawn down may be drawable.
To your question No. This is the way I think of it. We are down material and any trades will help white realize his material advantage. Remember the saying, when up material trade down into an endgame. Plus also with Rc8 we can indirectly pressure the queen and white always has to be worried about the knight moving with a discovered attack on the king.
Some math for you. Say White has 20 point and you have 15 points Black.
So 15/20 = 75 %. Now say you get rid of 10 point each so its 5/10 = 50%.
So now you have a 50 % chance compared to a 75% chance before.

Rc8 for me also.

I vote for e4. It stops white from playing d4 kind of as appose to exf4 and then black can play d4 unchallenged. It gains more space. Limits white's activity.
I don't got any variations though. White just has to many different moves after black plays e4.

Bump
I checked out the Nd7 line and its about the same as this line we went into with Nc6. Both equal almost. It's really strange though. We are down a pawn yet the Nc6 line is = to the Nd7 line in evaluation. I guess with the Nd7 white has a bit more development and slightly more room.
So we gave up 1 pawn to stifle his development.
