Chessmaster's Personalityes

Which is the higer rated personality you have defeated.( I mean what is its rating)

Recently I think in january I had a 20 minute game in Chessbase against S.Adgestein (Nor.rat. 2590). It ended in a draw (perpetual check) I played rather quikly and was glad about the result.

I had a draw vs Liam in ChessMaster 7000. I play like a dope vs the programs. I lose to Fritz 5.32 in drunk mode.

Unlike other modern engines, even the best Chessmaster personalities can be defeated, even at 40 in 120, using variations of the following anti-computer strategy:

1. Nc3 d5
2. d4 Nf6
3. Bf4 e6
4. a3 Bd6
5. Bg3 Bxg3
6. hxg3 0-0
7. Qd2 c5
8. e3 cxd4
9. exd4 Nc6
10. Nf3 Bd7
11. Bd3 a6
12. Rh4 b5
13. Rdh1 etc

I can't remember the exact move order, but it works. Try it.

As soon as White plays Qd2 Black ought to play Qb6 (or Ne4), but it doesn't.

I know it works with 8K, and I think 9K is the same engine as 10K.

The more normal
1. d4 d5
2. Nc3 will work sometimes, depending on its book.

What does it do after 3. Bf4

Infinite time per move, but it answers imediatly.

you mean to play

1 Nc3 Nf6
2.d4 c5
3. bf4 it moves Nc6 (after 10 seconds)
