Furthermore, a reminder can be sent before the skull button even appears. I have always done this, and I think it is the most considerate course of action.

Also, please don't compare CC ...[text shortened]... ke an informed decision.

He asked for opinions. Don't expect them all to be like yours.
Point well taken about camparing cc to OTB, even though like previously suggested he could set the vacation flag and explain. Like I said I'll give people the bennefit of the doubt but if I'm close winning the round I will take the TO unless the flag is set. This is what I'd expect other people to do to me and I think it's only fair if I play to the same ethical standards that I'd expect from others against me.

Now as the send reminder goes, I don't send them because I've heard some peope go nuts if you send them reminders. It hasn't happenned to me but what do others think about reminders?

LOL! There are people who are running a business and have more responsibilities than you can imagine. Do you think because they forget about their RHP game, they must be irresponsible little boys?
If they are running a business and don't care about times - then they will lose their clients pretty soon. And then they are irresponsible, yes.

I keep my times - I expect business runners to keep their times.

I don't think a business runner needs reminders - little boys do.
We shouldn't think low on business runners.

Time periods are agreed by both players at the start, so I always claim timeouts unless:

A vacation flag is up
Or
You live in Wales and your bigger than me

And I expect the same courtesy

People like this have a psychological problem....nothing is ever their fault; not in chess and not in life. To them, you are a stupid jerk and they hate your guts for beating them no matter how you do it.
Edit...I'm talking about your opponent!

Time limits are there before the game starts therefore collect every skull as it becomes available

Of course, the busy business man cares about times. Where did you get such a strange idea? The point is that being so busy and forgetting about a game on RHP can happen even to responsible people. And forgetting about exactly how much time you had left for a game and getting timed out does not suddenly change a person's general character or age. ;p

By your hash judgements, I guess the husband who forgot the milk for his wife is irresponsible. Is such a generalization really warranted?

I used to send time outs - I don't anymore. If a vacation flag is up then I will consider not timing out.. but if they are moving on other games and don't have a reasonable reason attached to their vacation flag.. that skull is collected! I expect the same treatment. And thanks to all of you that respected my vacation flag 🙂
