Don't know about chess sets, but the London Chess Centre
http://www.chesscenter.com/ may have what you want.
Disclaimer: I have no connection with the London Chess Centre

Reading your your profile you mention the lack of chess clubs in the uk, to join.
Depending on your location, have a look at the BCF website http://www.bcf.org.uk/clubsetc.htm
You may find a club close to hand, good luck.
My local one is very friendly and helpful and forgiving of this dunce's playing.šŸ™‚

I believe the one that guy used to hit Kasparov over the head with was a good "clubbing" size chess set. Is that what you meant?
Who are you going to club with it anyways?

edit: definatley go with weighted pieces for a better effect.

cheers, when i said club size i meant large,it's just most sets seem to come in tournament size with a 3.75"king,you cant beat a good weighted set.
I'll definitely look for a club on bcf, thanks again

The one place mentioned, Chess and Bridge Ltd on
369 Euston Road, London, NW1 3AR phone 020 7388 2404
had a bunch of 3.75 inch sets, some double weighted, (95 MM). I did not see a 4.25 Inch (114 MM) but they did have one even bigger at 6 inches, 150 MM for about 100 pounds. There looked to be some good deals on the 95 MM types, 30 to 50 pounds, nice looking. I think 6 inch may be a bit big. So good luck. If you are in the London area give them a call. I live in Pennsylvania so can't be a whole lot of help. I just went to the website the guy who posted it on you thread mentioned and found all that stuff. A phone call is definitely in order.
