I missed Andrew Martin's Playchess lecture tonight, which was on, of all things, the King's Gambit. 😠

Anybody see what he had to say? Or hear I guess... :/

He said the King's Gambit is completely unsound and you should learn a sensible opening instead. 😉

Good marketing there; a little vacillating makes $$. You come out with "Win with the King's Gambit". When the sales die down, you release, "How to totally bust the King's Gambit". If anyone points out the contradiction, you just tell them "Opening theory is constantly changing..."

Thats simple. 1. e4?? e6!

It's been my forum title for ages now, I don't know why more people haven't figured it out yet...

I feel it's...c5!, but to each his or her own. I think most common defences are playable and solid.

It changes pretty often, you usually have to login to PC everyday and check the upcoming events (or the news on the PC website) not to miss it. It's probably Wednesday though.

On now... 9pm eastern standard time US

King's Gambit again

Oops it's not Andrew Martin it's Dennis Monokroussos and it's about David Bronstein. But it's focused on the King's Gambit

Yes - you lose or win less points than a win or loss depending on ratings. It's in the FAQ I think. Yes indeed... here it is FAQ

If you have firefox and you get the greasemonkey addon (extension) you can see what the rating change will be for W/L/D for every game you play.
