I play d4 almost exclusivly, but in order to help I need a better understanding of what you want....

give us a line!

i'm not sure if this is what you want but....

d4 d5 f3? [seems very odd to me but in this, I'd concentrate on e4] Nf6 Nc3 Nc6 e4 dxe4 d5 Ne5? fxe4 [now the bishop is free and 0-0 looks tasty (due to the open f-file)]

its more of a general question. lets say a nimzo indian where white plays e3 before moving his black bishop or what does he do with it when the opponent plays Nf3 g6 and goes for a kings indian and i play e3 instead of moving the black bishop. i'm just looking for games where white blockaded his black bishop inside then use it later in the game. and how he goes about that.

nimzo indian, and queens gambit declined games are what i'm mainly interested. but kings indian would work too i want to know d4 very well i'm switching from e4 openings over to d4 openings.

Game 2675626

1) its QGD
2) white does blockade his own bishop (with e6)
3) white did find a way to use it.....

thanks that helps a little. i havn't seen that game in forever! also if white is to develope the bishop to put his rook on c1. a common square when the c file is opened i'm guessing it would be better put on d2 than b2?
