I just got absolutely pasted playing against a Danish Gambit.
I'm told if defended against correctly, the game is even.
Anyone post a game link of it well defended or give me a clue ?

Originally posted by JimmyBillyThe simplest way to play against it is to decline it with 3...d5 4.exd5 Qxd5 which invariably seems to give black a comfortable game. After 5.cxd4 Nc6 6.Nf3 the declined Goring Gambit is reached, in which black has a number of ways to equalise.

Originally posted by ssushiThanks everyone....Susshi, you declined the full gambit by not taking the B2 pawn. Some form of declinature is recommended though I'll have to set out Osse's defence to see how it works.

There's a lot more to chess than my poor grey cells can handle !
Originally posted by ssushiWell, 5. d5? is a horrible move. 🙁 You should've played 5. bxc forcing Black to retreat the bishop and then White has all kinds of tactical play.

I believe its only the danish gambit if black eats all the pawns up all the way to the rook forcing the bishop to finally take.
Ssushi.. in your game white started out playing it but completely muddled it up by not taking with the knight once your bishop came out and allowed you to get 2 queens!
Good job!
