Game result went 0-1; I believe he had drawing chances early, and also on diagram 3, where the Philodor Drawing technique may have been used...with difficulty due to his king being cut off a rank. It is definitly possible but I am hazy as to how white draws that 3rd diagram so I probably would have lost there...because white's king can't get to the short side of the pawn I don't believe passive defense works..

I can't belive the first position is a draw, but not the second, black look better as he force an exchange, good thing.

The third, I think white can draw this, but I can't see how, the king is cut from the pawn.

Edit : I think white can draw with something like Kd3 Rh8 then Rh1 to bring back the rook to the field.

The first two I thought black can win.The 3rd I thought it's a draw.Played it against Fritzie:

In the second position doesn't black just play Rh8+ swap rooks and then march the pawn and win based on the strength of white's king being cut off?

I believe #3 is a win for Black. It's quite easy to get to a standard Lucena position, and then Black wins like this:

Mind showing this 'easy' way to reach that position?

That engine starts giving sidechecks too soon.In that line 5.Rh1 keeps the draw.

Could you be more specific about what you think White's drawing technique is? Black's winning technique is to keep his rook on the c-file and wobble his king and pawn up the board.

(edit: not 6. ... Ka2? as I originally posted!)

As white I would play 7. Rxb4 instead of 7.Rh1 and that's draw, isnt it?
