I've been very keen on learning more about this opening. I apologize if it's already been discussed and I missed it.
I'm wondering what responses people like to play against it as black, and what lines people prefer to develop into as white when they open with it.
Thanks,
-mike
I play it alot and try to stay as hypermodern as possible with it as I can. Some people play to advance the e-pawn as well as the c-pawn when black stays closed. I generally play the London system against it when I am black. I play ...d5, ..c6, ..Nf6, ...Bf5, ..e6, ...Be7, ...h6, ...Bh7 and all that jazz. Sometimes if they are trying for the typical a3, b4 queenside space I play ..a5 too. Main thing in that line is to try to pry the e5 square from white's control. Got it? 😀
