In a K-Panws v K-Pawns endgame and you've got a passed pawn, get your K in front of the P and interpose if you can. Prevent him cutting off your P advance lines. Get in front of his P lines. Push your P to draw away the K. If he looks like he's going to cut out your pawn, switch your K to take his other pawns.

If you're going to Queen, ignore material losses or non-material threats.

Be prepared to throw away material to achieve the Queen.
