Hi folks,
The inspiration for this thread came from the "Player Tables" thread.
I used to play lots of OTB chess, and I am just about to get back in the saddle in 2010. My friend of 30+ years, Bralen, connected me to the site, and I have been using it to polish my openings and endgame technique in order to apply it to my OTB game.
Has anyone else found success in improving their OTB game after playing on the site? Just in two months, I have found that my informal club play has improved because RHP has increased the focus and frequency of my study, but I wonder how much I should expect to translate.
I'm curious to know other players' experiences. Let me know!

yep, heinz is right, any kind of chess will help your chess. But you will
get especially better at CC if you play lots of CC. You will get better at
OTB if you play lots of OTB. This is pretty obvious.
Of course, like paul here states, CC has some features wich will help
your technique in OTBchess, but apart from that it will give you the
ability to analyse one position pretty deeply. What I intend to say is
that CC can be very beneficial in the crucial moments of the game, in
the key moments, when deep reasoning is necessary. Such deep
analysis is what you use for pretty much every position in CC. This way
you will, then, achieve an important grasp over key-points in the game
and be able to conduct the game in the direction you want.
What I intend to say isThis is exactly what I am aiming for. I tend to play too quickly and superficially in OTB, and I am hoping to correct that deficiency at RHP. So far, I have certainly dramatically reduced my "blunder ratio", so I hope I'm making progress.

I am playing in a local quad on Saturday the 24th, so that will be my first test.
