I played blitz (4 min games) on here till 5. am.
Now at work. OK in the morning but now suffering.

Bullet way to fast for me. To be honest I do not enjoy it.
It comes down to fastest mouse. But I can see how it can grab you.

I have Gromit hidden behind my Excel Spreadhseets (it's the only
chess program I know that the IT boffins have not caught yet).

I will be playing that in about 20 minutes. (lunch break).
I too am addicted - I'm sure it screws up your OTB play.

Mostly because one stays up all night playing it and you do not get
a good night's sleep before an important game.

Playing the British Champion tomorrow - GM Jacob Aagaard. (simul).
I'll be playing the Latvian Gambit (given the chance).
So I'll not play blitz tonight and get some sleep in. (I hope).

Got mixed up with with Rybka and a Chess Master game I played.
Getting old - mind is finally going.

Seems everytime I come on here I make a complete nut job of myself.
    Good fun though.

(Hell hath no fury like Engine Users getting their Engine slagged)

One point I did stumble upon.
If the current Rybka is so strong (and I've been emailed a few
games-and agree it is good) - and it can beat 99% of the chess players on the planet.

Why buy the latest version? (a new one comes out next month)

If the one you have beats you up all the time - why get the new one?

Do you not think the makers have created a FRANENSTEIN that
they will not be able to sell?

Napoleon. Interesting. Last non chess book I bought was the
Da Vinci Code - it was OK.

Oo goody lunch time - Defend yourself Gromit

    (version 2.1 - someone asked.)

When analysing your games, it's nice to have as high a quality of analysis as possible. Let's face it, would you rather have an average GM or, e.g., Kasparov suggest moves for you? Even if you can beat neither.

Better engines/versions may also allow you to analyse your games quicker. i.e. you don't have to give them as long per move

I never play Rybka. I just use it to analyse with. Just guessing, but later versions of Rybka may include better understanding of certain endings, etc.
