I noticed that after a drawn game, I lost six points and my opponent gained six points. Is there some logic to that? If so, it eludes me.

If you're rated higher than him, you're expected to win. A drawn game is a bit of an upset.

Use the calculator below to see rating results Vs any player. In real terms a stronger player can lose points even beating a player correct me if I'm wrong 350 elo difference

https://crowthornechess.org.uk/elo-calculator/

On the FIDE calculator https://ratings.fide.com/calc.phtml?page=change a 2500 player who draws with a 2000 player loses 16 points with a K of 40

Difference of more than 400 is counted as 400.
Rating: 2500
Opponent Rating: 2000
Score: 0.5 / K factor: 40
Rating Change is: -16.8
