In the spirit of the thing, Game 814186 is one where I look pretty foolish. This one was from a few days ago. Somehow I suddenly took it into my head that I could hold on to the pawn on b2 for a while (I didn't think I could hold it indefinitely) at least long enough to shift some of the pressure onto him and improve my position. I was thinking that 12...Ba3 might get answered by 13. Qd3, which I could live with, but I never even considered 13. Qf3. 🙁
Sometimes I might have considered trying to play on a piece down, but I decided that resignation was more respectful to a good player like harrinpj when I had nothing going for me.

Although this game technically ended in a draw I think it demonstrates the theme of this thread perfectly. I laughed out loud after clicking the "your move" button.
Note to self, when attempting smother mate remember king can capture as well...
