Pretty neato. The King has to be on g2 before making the maneuver Rb8-b1, to keep the Queen closed in the corner. (right?)

OK it is brilliant 🙂 Without the hint about waiting until the King is on g2, it could have taken me ages more... of course it is composed, any names?

That's it - If Black tries to avoid the draw with Qxb1+ and goes
for the pawn race White queens with a check 'cos the Black King is on g2.

I plowing my way through the Manual of Chess Combinations.
    that was puzzle 560.

I've been doing them off and on since October. I give myself at
least one page in a sitting (6 puzzles).
If I don't get it within two minutes from the diagram, it goes onto
    the board.

Had to dive for solutions about 3 times and have been wrong about
4 times. Some are tough, some just leap out at you within seconds.
And some 'easier' ones remain hidden.

    This was seen within seconds.
White to play and win. (puzzle 514)

This was No.6 - It's easy but I had to board it.
I kept playing a check from the diagram that was not there.

    White to play and win.

    Good book.

Of course you - set it up on a board. It's a piece of cake.
