"Theory and Practice of Chess Endings" by Convecta is a very good tutorial.

You think Pandolfini's stuff is any good? His books tend to be very airy, i.e. not much in them. Is his software the same?

If you have Chess Base or Fritz, you can sort the games by endgames and then practice various piece positions,
First the basics like Opposition, lucena, philidor position etc
Start with pure pawn endings and then with Rooks, minor pieces and queen.

Hi SirLoseALot,
In Fritz, Selct the database Fritz6(7).cbh
You have 6 options namely Games, Openings, Themes, Tactics, Strategy and Endgames.
In Endgames you have a menu from pawn only, rooks and pawns to Endgame CD.
There you go.

This is strange.
Fritz provides all the options I mentiond earlier for all chess base databases.
If your selected database is .pgn then you will have to convert it to chessbase, all things work well.
