But you do have a nice position? Just dictate where the pieces stand, White King on e1, Black Knight on c6 ....

Ok Diagram 98 from "Endgame workshop" by Pandolfini.

Black knight at a1 and b1 Black king at d8

White bishop at a4 and b4 White king at b6

    White to move.

I chose this position because it looked somewhat "retarded" but very clever at the same time.

I'll gobble two Knights in three moves, is that alright for a solution?

edit: if this is what his books are all about, zugzwang in one move, mm I am not sure if it is all that interesting?

Interesting? maybe not, but it does teach "zugzwang" or the waiting move.

This book is for people without super powers like yourself.

To tell you the truth I have been playing chess for 5 years and only this year did I learn what "zugzwang" was and how to use it to my advantage.

Hmm it seems it'll take four moves, anyway.

    (I didn't write this out myself 😛)

Kb7 can hardly be called a waiting move.

If this is one of the more interesting positions, it seems too much "amaze the 1200s"-ish to me, how can I say it.

I just bought the book and you asked for a position. I haven't gone through it yet lol.

    And I'm not "1200ish" thank you very much! I am a solid 1400! 😞

Hmm how can I say it, the book only shows a superficial layer of some chess ideas, and the public is supposed to be thoroughly amazed. (at least what I extract from this position)

    Do you have this book?

It covers every endgame "method" It is not some lame "endgame tactics" type of book.

If it covers every method then it has to be good.

    Therefore it is good.

I've only played 5 or 6 games in blitz.

We could settle this now if you like? 5/5?
