Anyone want to practice endgames?Send me a message.
The idea is to set up an endgame (with set piece)and then we play it out, while discussing our moves.

I'm game. I seriously doubt I can teach you anything. If you don't mind being a mentor, lets go.

speaking of endgames...can someone please tell me how many moves you can make(if you've only got a king left) before a draw is declared.
thanks

In any chessgame,no matter what material is left nor if it's the endgame or middlegame or opening(though that's not likely to happen),it is draw after 50 moves without a capture or a pawn move.If a capture or pawn move occurs,it starts from zero again.
Does this answer your question?

Hmm,don't know about that half move stuff. It's quite confusing,I don't understand that system very well😳
I don't think 25 is right.You have to move a piece 50 times.Would that make 25 half moves?I dunno....

BTW,how's the not smoking going?

In reference to only haveing a King. What material does your opponent have?

i'm not really expecting to survive but he's got a rook, knight and about to promote a pawn.it just got me thinking.i can remember playing with a buddy who told me that when you are left with your king your opponent has 21 moves to checkmate you.sounds a bit wrong now but just wanted to make sure. With regards to the smoking....ehem..kinda losing that battle(much like my chess at the moment)

yes, there was. Move 55 you should have played Kh8 instead of Kf8. The game was draw (g7+?, then Kg8 and white has to release the pawn because Kg6 is stalemate).

[b]You're right! Dagnabit! Looks like I need to practice some basic endgame technique.
