yes, there was. Move 55 you should have played Kh8 instead of Kf8. The game was draw (g7+?, then Kg8 and white has to release the pawn because Kg6 is stalemate).

Gil.
[b]If the king releases the pawn and KXP is this stalemate also, since then it would be K vs K?

King vs King is a draw because neither side has mating material.

But stalemate=draw isn't it?πŸ™‚

I may be stating the obvious, but only Kings is a draw. Otherwise, if there are no more possible exchanges on the board, the 50 move rule is applied.πŸ˜€

But have you ever heard of a person with a horse and a king playing against a king and tryed to mate him? I don't think they'll play till the 50th move, my friend...

[b]I want to thank sintubin for analyzing Game number 219155 for me, very enlightening. I just had another one last night that I would love for someone to evaluate. This one, I actually won, but man! It was a positively butt-ugly endgame! I would love for someone to tell me when the first opportunity for a forced mate was. Any analysis will be greatly appreciated.

[b]Oops... 220574 is the game I was talking about that I would love for someone to critique. I know... I know... I started the endgame about 10 moves too early, and the endgame itself was hideous, but I did pull out a win. If I get some good analysis, I believe I can learn from it.

[b]If the kings are opposed and the king down on material is in a corner... the knight moves to check, is that not...? No wait a minute... there's still one legal move... Nevermind. But a king a knight and a pawn... there might be no need to promote... Sorry, just musing...

That's right...with a pawn a king and a horse you can mate a king indeed...but you can also just promoteπŸ™‚

At move 25,if you play Rg6,instead of Qh7,black would have to give his rook, just to stay alive a little longer. It would have made life much easier for you.At least,if I'm not mistakingπŸ˜‰

Also,in the future, try to not give away so many pieces πŸ˜›
Btw,why do you think you started the endgame 10 moves early? Is it possible to start the endgame too early??πŸ˜•
