After I saw your posts of your moves, I went back and considered them along with my moves and did it a 3rd time and got an ELO rating of 2340.
Here are my moves:
1. f6-f3
2. g2-e4
3. c5-c6
4. e5-e6
5. f5-h6
6. g5-f6
7. f6-h7
8. b6-d8
9. e3-d4
10. d8-d7
P.S. I guess practice makes perfect. I think my rating is high enough now.
Originally posted by SwissGambitI did to the first time. I moved 1.Bd1 But I also spent less than a minute thinking on it that time.
Very nice. I missed this one.

Originally posted by gezza1...Qd7 seems to address the threat of 2. g4. At least, I assume that's the idea. Not a move I found first go, I'll freely admit. 1...Ba6 looks indicated; but after 2.g4, Black has awkward questions to answer
1850, having been a little too quick off the mark on the 2nd and 3rd Black to play.
Any superstar care to explain why Qd7 and Ne8 are so bl***y good on diagram 10?
Thanks!

I just completed this test online
http://www.chessmaniac.com/ELORating/ELO_Chess_Rating.shtml
and got the suprisingly high result of 1780. My current OTB elo is 1504, though that has risen from an estimated 1290 in 8 months, so I would say my current OTB rating is an underestimate. 1780 equates to about 140 BCF, which would be a grade I'd be massive ...[text shortened]... with that, rather than necesserily finding the best move i possibly can in the time available.
If spend 5 mins on each I just come up with the same move 5 times!
Originally posted by SmittyTimeThat first time I was limiting myself to no more than 1 minute per move and I have always been a slow thinker and analyzer, so it is not surprising to me that I would find the move the normal patzer would find. I remember my first instinct was to trade bishops, but then it looked like that would just give me a draw. By that time, I was already considering moving the bishop and the only other safe squares were c2 and d1, so with my minute quickly running down I picked d1, which appeared to give me more maneuvering space toward my king. It was not until I came back and gave myself much more time was I able to see that the pawn advance was the most forcing way to win. I can win by Bd1 too, but it just takes longer.
I picked Bd1 as well.
Interesting your rating is 1000 points higher than mine and we made the same move.
My Quick USCF rating is now 1434 and my regular USCF rating is now 1535. When I quit playing in 1982 my regular USCF rating was 1817. My rating on RHP is much higher than my OTB USCF ratings because I do not play here under the same restrictions as during a USCF rated game. I also seem to do much better in OTB games that have longer time controls.
