So I am just curious but what is every ones elses favorite opening? I admit I love either a King's pawn or Benko opening. what about anyone else, what is your favorite?

Really boring, but - 1. e4 as White (I play the Ruy after 1. ... e5 2. Nf3 Nc6); 1. ... e5 as Black (in response to 1. e4); either the Nimzo-Indian or Queen's Indian in response to 1. d4. For most other stuff, I just play symmetrically (in the English, for example).

My favourite opening is doing just something randomly. I don't read books on chess, don't use them with my openings and I like to change things every now and then (when I don't see any nescessary benefits).

We're almost similar. I read chess stuff but I have a terrible memory 🙂 Randomization rules 🙂

I've been learning the London as white....don't have a consistent black strategy yet

A very underated white opening and probably the most flexible/solid there is. You can use several plans that best suit the situation, like a queenside minority attack with open c file, quiet positional/defensive play, and even kingside attacks of a surprising nature to most players, usually with a delayed white castle. There are several systems you can use and I've invented some of my own. It works against almost any d4 black defense, so you are always a leg up on your opponent in simple preparation, and it always has subtle agressive potential that most black players do not expect to come from 1.d4. It does work well against the king's indian, most say it won't work, but I've invented some unique anti-Indian systems with it too. It naturally works well against d5, c5, and the dutch (f5).

No idea why but I play the KG as white and Alekhine's vs. 1.e4.

Enjoy the DDG vs. the French and some probably unsound Wing Gambit stuff vs. the Sicilian... and of course the Budapest vs. 1.d4 2.c4. Wee!

I used to play something called the Halasz Gambit (1.e4 e5 2.d4 exd4 3.f4) as white, but I was getting smoked consistently... probably far better OTB than corr.

Looked up the Halasz Gambit . It seems to me that it is a variation of the Danish Gambit.
