....station. Waiting on the platform. Already had my 2011 season pass to Marchduel - it's in the northwest - third class mind, I'm on a budget. No conspire for this short run so the single carriage is slowly backed up to the platform. Glanced back up the line and there's two steamers pushing this little thirty-two'er back and there's still one to be seated.

Enter the last passenger - a toff no less - all hat and no trouser. We're all a little suprised, this is 3rd class for wepts sake. I've decided that I've seen enough and detrain. Guard asks if there is a problem. I gesture to the two tractors now coupled to the carriage and tell him that in my opinion, there's way to much engine on that track for my liking. He sighs and nods, tells me thats the way of transport these days.

I reply that I'd rather walk and then turn and leave the station.

Pretty cute and droll.

She's whining about being in 3rd place and implying that engine use had something to do with it.

Looked more like a commentary on Tournament 11358 to me. . .

A 'toff' is regarded as someone from the upper echelons of society, in days gone by a toff would be accompanied by an 'upper crust' accent..overtly wealthy types, landed gentry, aristocrats etc.

That much is easy. I am still puzzled as to which one is the toff and who the two steamers are.

The one with a hat, no trousers and carrying a copy of "trainspotting" in their anorak. Whatever happened to carnations and a copy of The TImes?

I found one with a hat, can't tell whether there are trousers or not. He doesn't look very toff-like though, sort of like me only a much more impressive and whiter beard.
