The Wrold Blitz championship is due to start September 5 just south of TelAviv, Israel. I wonder if this will be cancelled due to the conflict going on at present (and maybe future). I hope everything returns to normal, at least as normal as it gets in that part of the world. Chess can help bring people together, but i guess none of the other Middle Eastern countries would have sent participants to Israel anyway.
I used to play titled players in blitz, at the CC's in NYC.
The way they play, and beat the crap out of the clock, in time pressure, is equivalent to rockets, and bullets anyway.....

remind me not play at NY clubs, i don't wana have to buy a new clock every other week.
i live in israel and im not blowing nor is tel aviv i just went there. they are attacking things north of tel aviv and there seems no plan of them to attack in tel aviv or south of there in the short term it should be fine and the isreal fedaration said nothing about it being canceled
I hope what you say is correct, Moon. I'd like to check out some of the blitz games. So far you are right, Tel Aviv and south is OK. Let's hope it stays that way. But you know in wartime things get so complicated politically for an organization to pull together an event like that with participants from all over the world, it's does make things more difficult.
