I am king of the chess geeks; at least in my area.
Just finished winning my first OTB tournament. It was a low-key tournament for charity -- no official sanctioning or anything. BUT all my opponents were the "smart kids" going to the state honors university, so there....
Double elimination...I went 5-1...getting revenge on the one person who beat me, in the final...
My games as white...My BIRD was unstoppable...I guess playing the same opening a couple hundred times on RHP can help. There was no position as white that I felt like I hadn't been in before....
Once, again...I am KING of the chess geeks!

I hope the DB has proved useful.

Of course I did. But alas, they are all "poor" college students and I doubt that an RHP subscription will take priority over "beer money".

Although I see your rating has been up near 1600 lately. I'd say you're NOT doing much wrong at all. You seem to be playing well.
Ok, I'll pm ya. I won't use books or a db either unless you want to? I'll still use the analysis board though.
