What did you think about Fischer's letters? Were you surprised that Fischer was actually coaching Kasparov?
I can't wait to see the large collection of games he had played on the Internet. Was Short right? Did he really play Fischer? Was he really crushed by a player rated over 3300?
I was caught off guard hook, line and sinker! The only reservation I had was that Short said he played the games on the Internet Chess Club and not playchess.com The rediculous line suggested to play against Karpov didn't even bother me (other than him saying it would convert into a Sicilian). His hatred for "the little Russian" was so real that I could believe it. And I only briefly read the article intending to go back to it after more information came forward. If I had taken the time to study it maybe I would have seen through it; may not, I never could understand him. I guess he's so far above my head that I would believe anything. 🙂
